    • This seminar provides helpful information, particularly for working with couples and families. Each provides a series of classes for the following groups:

      • 1. Lay Counselors - Classes include the basics of biblical counseling, along with skills needed for counseling. An

      •     introductory class in marriage and family is also available.​

      • 2. Pastors - Every pastor should be informed about the basics of counseling, especially with couples and families, which we

      •     address in this course.

      • 3. Professional Counselors - We offer supervision for social workers, as well as marriage and family therapists for those

      •     who wish to achieve licensure, or simply enhance their skills in counseling.

  • There and Back Again:  Depression and Recovery

    • This informative, 1-hour seminar addresses the issue nicknamed "the common cold of mental health disorders": depression.  Attendees will learn the official symptoms of clinical depression, and, most importantly, will learn how to overcome this common affliction by embracing a "whole person approach" to healing.  In addition, special emphasis is given to Bible characters who faced depression, and to how we can deepen our connection to God even while suffering.  This seminar has been presented to groups of women and senior citizens, but would work well for almost any group, since depression is experienced by approximately 25% of the population.

  • The Shattered World: Understanding Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

    • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a diagnosis commonly given to combat veterans and survivors of childhood abuse or domestic violence, and it can also affect survivors of many other traumatic events.  This seminar will explain what trauma is and what it does to the human mind, emotions, and behavior.  Also, emphasis is given to the Genesis account of creation, and how it relates to human trauma.  And finally, the process of recovery from trauma will be taught.  This 1-hour seminar has been presented to the staff of a residential mental health treatment facility, but would also be perfect for abuse recovery groups, pastors, youth pastors, teachers, parents, and anyone else who cares about hurting people.
