Methods of Treatment
All our Upward Call therapists have been trained in Family Systems Theory/Therapy.
Family Systems Theory/Therapy and Biblical principals are the foundation for our
treatment at Upward Call.
We specialize in Individual Therapy, Premarital Counseling, Marriage Counseling
and Family Counseling.
For specific diagnosis we combine Family Systems Theory with others forms of
therapy that have been proven to be effective treatments for that particular diagnosis.
Our Counselors have been trained using different adjunct therapies to treat a vast array
of mental health problems. Each individual therapist has his/her own specialized training.

We treat Depression and Anxiety using Family Systems Therapy as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Some of our counselors
are also trained in Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative therapy and Psychodynamic therapy.
Often times, severe Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and Anxiety are best treated with therapy combined with medication.
We do not have a Psychiatrist on staff at Upward Call; if it is determined that a person would likely benefit from medication we will refer the person to their PCP or psychiatrist for medication management.
We also work with the families of people who are suffering from severe mental illness such as Schizophrenia. We help these families cope with the challenges that severe mental illness brings to a family.
We have Counselors who work with individuals struggling with drug abuse and addiction. These counselors work from an Alcoholics Anonymous {AA} and Narcotics Anonymous {NA} framework.
We also have Counselors who have been trained to work specifically with children. Play therapy and Attachment Therapy
are generally used.
