Dear Friends, Over the years, I have spent many hours contemplating the various ways that counseling could make a difference in our culture. I am firmly convinced that expanding counseling services to other areas of need can help alleviate the pain and suffering in our culture, as well as promote health and healing. A significant area of need is cancer, which causes considerable stress and strain on a family. I recognize this from counseling as well as personal experience, as my wife and I battled through cancer and I vividly recall the stress it caused for us. With this in mind, I recently completed the paperwork for a grant to provide counseling to the families of children stricken with cancer. We want to offer nurture, support and comfort to these families as we join in their battle against this dreaded disease (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). We plan to do a pilot study designed to provide a model of care for families as well as other providers. Would you prayerfully consider what God might have you give in support of our clients and ministry as we approach the end of 2016? Your support of this ministry not only enables us to serve scores of individuals and families, but also helps us stay on the cutting edge as we reach out into new areas of care, such as serving families struggling with cancer.
